SUSTAIN provides various activities to strengthen inter-university and inter-disciplinary cooperation in education, training and curricula development and to stimulate exchange of knowledge of international best practices in Sustainable Urban Development (SUD), establishing knowledge sharing in a practical, achievable and innovative manner. Moreover the project illustrates the activities that will improve the preparation of students to the thematic labour market, foster cooperation with practitioners and business and strengthen collaboration and networking between EM joint programmes and EM joint programmes and Attractiveness projects particularly but not exclusively in the thematic area of sustainability and climate change.
Through the proposed interventions, the project aims:
- To improve the quality of Tertiary Education in Sustainable Urban Development (SUD) in Europe and partner Universities in Asia, developing standardized educational modules related to SUD and furthermore enriching them with international perspectives and academic and vocational skills and competencies.
- To promote collaboration and international cooperation between European and Asian Higher Education Institutions in SUD but also collaboration and sharing between Erasmus Mundus programmes.
- To establish links and bridge European Higher Education and practise in SUD, increasing the employability of students.
To increase the visibility of and access to European Higher Education (EHE) in Asia (and internationally) in the field of SUD, attracting prospective Asian and international students.
