The final review of the SPHINX project took place in June 2022. The project was coordinated by the Decision Support Systems Laboratory. Starting in January 2019, SPHINX targeted the creation, piloting and evaluation of a Universal Cyber Security Toolkit aiming to enhance the cyber protection of Health IT Ecosystem and ensure the patient data privacy and integrity. SPHINX also provided an automated zero-touch device and service verification toolkit that will be easily adapted or embedded on existing, medical, clinical or health available infrastructures. SPHINX has also been included in the Joint Catalogue of EU solutions for Cybersecurity in Healthcare.

The final review of the project was a success, with the reviewers and the project officer praising the overall efforts—specifically focusing on its excellent coordination and project management—alongside various outcomes of the project. More specifically, the review panel recognised the holistic approach and the potential of SPHINX, as well as the usefulness of the results of the project pilots. The reviewers and the project officers urged the SPHINX consortium to engage into post-project exploitation activities, in order to scale up the adoption of the project’s outputs. The project partners were also urged to build upon the project results in order to influence and support policy making and cybersecurity culture within the healthcare domain.
The Decision Support Systems Laboratory, as well as its project partners remain committed to ensuring the project’s results reach the market and ensure a more secure healthcare ecosystem, with reasearch and innovation at its core.
The following videos are a small demonstrator of some key results of the SPHINX project—specifically the Real-Time Cyber Risk Assessment Module (RCRA) and User Behaviour and Attack Simulators (ABS)— that were developed by the DSS Lab.
